Baseball Recap: Columbia Central Takes a Loss

Columbia Central lost against Shelbyville Central last Monday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Lions fell 7-2 to the Golden Eagles. The Lions just can't catch a break and have now endured five defeats in a row.

Autry Smith was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

Columbia Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Shelbyville Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.

Columbia Central will challenge Marshall County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Shelbyville Central, they will face off against Forrest at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
