Softball Recap: Sylvania Takes a Loss

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matchups, Sylvania finally came back down to earth on Friday. They came up short against the Geraldine Bulldogs, falling 8-2. The Rams' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Sylvania saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mallory Miles, who went 1-for-4 with one RBI.

Sylvania's defeat dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Geraldine, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-6.

Coming up, Sylvania will take on Valley Head at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.72 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Geraldine, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Fyffe at 4:30 p.m.
