Basketball Recap: Isaac Yuhico Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Golden Valley

Golden Valley typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Canyon proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Golden Valley Grizzlies by a score of 63-54. This was a revenge game for the Cowboys: when they faced off against the Grizzlies back in December of 2024, they had to take a 60-52 defeat.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Canyon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Isaac Yuhico, who posted 23 points. With that strong performance, Yuhico is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Eric Kubel, who scored 17 points.

Despite the loss, Golden Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Donovan Webb put up 16 points. Wyatt Printz was another key player, putting up ten points.

Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 18-7. As for Golden Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-9.

Canyon has already played their next matchup, a 71-61 loss against Valencia on the 31st. As for Golden Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-51 defeat against Saugus on the 31st.
