Softball Recap: Salem Takes a Loss

Salem and Richland County squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Salem had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 11-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Wildcats, who until this matchup were averaging 3.67 runs allowed.

Marah Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Another player making a difference was Isabella Decker, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Salem's loss dropped their record down to 22-5. As for Richland County, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Salem nor Richland County have any future games scheduled.
