Basketball Game Preview: Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans vs. Vista Ridge Wolves

Fountain-Fort Carson is 2-7 against Vista Ridge since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Fountain-Fort Carson Trojans will square off against the Vista Ridge Wolves at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Fountain-Fort Carson is headed into Thursday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 11th straight game on Tuesday. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 65-62 heartbreaker at the hands of Liberty. While losing is never fun, the Trojans can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 200th, while the Lancers are ranked 44th).

Meanwhile, Vista Ridge had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Fountain-Fort Carson by a score of 55-45 on Monday.

Fountain-Fort Carson better keep an eye on Zay Thurman. He was instrumental in Vista Ridge's win, almost dropping a double-double on 28 points and nine boards. The dominant performance gave Thurman a new career-high in points. Jordan Scales was another key player, putting up ten points and three steals.

Vista Ridge's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-11. As for Fountain-Fort Carson, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Fountain-Fort Carson came up short against Vista Ridge when the teams last played on Monday, falling 55-45. Can Fountain-Fort Carson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
