Churchill County (Fallon, Nev.) snapped
Fernley (Nev.)'s 6-game winning streak, with a 13-0 victory on Saturday.
After taking the lead on a
Morgan Dirickson touchdown pass to
Micah Manning in the second quarter, the Greenwave led 7-0 at the half.
Churchill County expanded its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. CC's lone score in the quarter came on a touchdown pass by Dirickson to
Dylan Tedford.
Dirickson was the top performer for the Fallon school. The junior quarterback threw two touchdowns. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.
The Greenwave came into the game allowing 10.8 points per game. The Vaqueros' zero points were well below their season average of 28.4 per game.
Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 17-12 win for Churchill County.
The loss comes after Fernley defeated Truckee 7-0 last week.
Fernley (6-2) goes up against Lowry in a IA Northern game matchup next week, while Churchill County (7-0) locks horns with Truckee also in a IA Northern game.
