Basketball Recap: Sachse Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Sachse can now relate to. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 39-38 to the Duncanville Panthers and Pantherettes. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Panthers and Pantherettes are ranked fourth).

Duncanville can attribute much of their success to Trystan James, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Those 12 rebounds gave James a new career-high. Samari Holmen was another key player, putting up ten points and five steals.

Sachse's defeat dropped their record down to 30-6. As for Duncanville, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 28-6.

Sachse does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Duncanville, they will take on The Woodlands at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Woodlands will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Duncanville surely won't give up without a fight.
