Baseball Game Preview: Dodge City Demons vs. Manhattan Indians

The Dodge City Demons will square off against the Manhattan Indians at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Dodge City will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Monday, then bounced right back against Garden City last Tuesday. The Demons were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Buffaloes. With that win, the Demons brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Dodge City got a massive performance out of Finn Martinez, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Max Gonzales, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Dodge City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .558. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Meanwhile, Manhattan made easy work of Olathe Northwest on Saturday and carried off a 7-1 victory. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Ravens recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Dodge City's victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 5-4. As for Manhattan, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Dodge City suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Manhattan in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Demons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
