Softball Game Preview: Red Bluff Spartans vs. Enterprise Hornets

Red Bluff has gone a perfect 10-0 against Enterprise recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Spartans will host the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. Red Bluff is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Things were looking good for Red Bluff after they put the first runs on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chico.

Mattison Kwarta was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up seven earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, Enterprise lost 14-2 to Pleasant Valley on Monday. The Hornets have struggled against the Vikings recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Enterprise's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Red Bluff, their loss dropped their record down to 6-4.

Red Bluff took their win against Enterprise in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-2 score. Will the Spartans repeat their success, or do the Hornets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
