Soccer Game Preview: Marysville vs. Lincoln

The Marysville Indians will head out to square off against the Lincoln Fighting Zebras at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Marysville took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Mira Loma. The score was all tied up 1-1 at the break, but the Indians were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Lincoln hasn't lost a match since December 7, 2024, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They blew past Wheatland 4-1. Given the Fighting Zebras' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 483rd, while the Pirates are ranked 1057th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lincoln hit Wheatland with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Abdallah Bouchelaghem, Isaac Guzman, Gage Blanton, and Arturo Fuentes.

Marysville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-7-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 17 goals over those four games. As for Lincoln, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3-4.
