Baseball Recap: Mullen Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Mullen and Palisade squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Mullen had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-6.

Thomas Stewart was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Mullen is 4-2 when Stewart posts two or more runs, but 5-14 otherwise. Griffith Dings was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Mullen has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Palisade, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games. That's provided a massive bump to their 17-8 record this season.
