Basketball Game Preview: GRACE Christian Eagles vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the GRACE Christian Eagles take on the Ravenscroft Ravens at 7:15 p.m. on Monday... GRACE Christian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 59.1 points per game this season.

Last Saturday, GRACE Christian didn't have too much trouble with Calvary Day School as they won 54-40. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

GRACE Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Michael Phillips II, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten boards, and A.J. Gladieux, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 16 points. Phillips II's afternoon made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Knight, who posted five points.

Meanwhile, Ravenscroft entered their matchup against Greensboro Day School on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. Ravenscroft had to suffer through a 71-41 loss at the hands of Greensboro Day School. While losing is never fun, the Ravens can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Bengals are ranked sixth).

The victory got GRACE Christian back to even at 8-8. As for Ravenscroft, their defeat ended a nine-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 5-5.

GRACE Christian beat Ravenscroft 55-46 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for GRACE Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
