Soccer Game Preview: Bishop Carroll vs. St. James Academy

The Bishop Carroll Golden Eagles will square off against the St. James Academy Thunder at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Bishop Carroll sitting on 17 straight wins and St. James Academy on seven.

Bishop Carroll is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They never let De Soto get on the board and left with a 3-0 victory. Bishop Carroll might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matchups by three goals or more this season.

Meanwhile, St. James Academy faced Kapaun Mt. Carmel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Thunder were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Crusaders. St. James Academy's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last four contests.

They hit Kapaun Mt. Carmel with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Kambree Duker, Elle Robinson, and Coryn Jespersen.

St. James Academy pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up five goals over those 12 games. As for Bishop Carroll, their win bumped their record up to 17-0.
