Softball Recap: West Campus Has No Trouble Against Florin

West Campus's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They put the hurt on the Florin Panthers with a sharp 19-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won nine in a row.

Analisa Mederos was a major factor no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI and one double. That double was her first of the season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sophia Quiroz, who scored three runs while going 3-for-3. Moriah Williams was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4.

West Campus always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

West Campus now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Florin, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Campus will welcome Foothill at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Foothill has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.25 runs per game on average), something West Campus will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Florin, they will square off against Burbank at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
