Football Game Preview: West Forsyth Titans vs. East Forsyth Eagles + How To Watch

West Forsyth is 2-8 against East Forsyth since September of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

West Forsyth is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of North Carolina's top teams: Richmond Senior, who was ranked 19th at the time (West Forsyth was ranked 15th). The Titans took a 36-30 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raiders last Friday. Despite 144 more yards than the Raiders, the Titans couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

West Forsyth might have lost, but man, Mozes Morris was a machine: he rushed for 215 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 8.6 yards per carry. Morris' rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 rushing yards. Another rusher making a difference was Darell Paige, who gained 53 total yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, East Forsyth had to suffer through a 42-14 loss at the hands of Mooresville. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Defeat or not, East Forsyth got some senior leadership from Cannen Rottweiler and Jaire Richburg. Rottweiler rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown, while Richburg picked up 91 receiving yards and one score.

East Forsyth's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for West Forsyth, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-2.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. West Forsyth has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 234.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like East Forsyth struggles in that department as they've been averaging 211.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
