After a string of 13 wins, Reed's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They were beaten by the Spanish Springs Cougars 62-34. The contest marked the Raiders' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Reed lost, don't look at Faanaetaua Puloka. Despite the final result, she posted 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals. Those six steals gave Puloka a new career-high. Anastasia Lombardi was another key player, putting up three points and four steals.

Spanish Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Aaliyah Vance, who went 5 for 10 on her way to 14 points and seven boards. Vance has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Wakefield, who put up 15 points and six rebounds.

Reed's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 14-2. As for Spanish Springs, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
