Basketball Game Preview: Zapata Hawks vs. Robstown Cottonpickers

Zapata is 0-5 against Robstown since January of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Zapata Hawks will take on the Robstown Cottonpickers at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Zapata took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Friday. They came out on top against King by a score of 36-27. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hawks as it put an end to their six-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Robstown). They took down King 59-40 on Friday.

Robstown's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-11. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.0 points per game. As for Zapata, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-13.

Things could have been worse for Zapata, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-33 loss to Robstown in their previous meeting on January 3rd. Can Zapata avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
