On Thursday, Tupelo faced Clinton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Tupelo Golden Wave took their match with ease, bagging a 55-28 win over the Clinton Arrows. The Golden Wave have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 21 points or more this season.

Clinton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Shunta Caston, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Caitlin White, who scored six points and three steals.

The victory (which was Tupelo's third in a row) raised their record to 21-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for Clinton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-7.
