Preview: Clyde Fliers vs. Vermilion Sailors
The Clyde Fliers have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Vermilion Sailors at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Clyde came up short against Bellevue and fell 55-43. While losing is never fun, Clyde can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 285th, while Bellevue is ranked 51st).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Aubrey Sengstock, who scored 6 points along with 9 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Shiets, who scored 13 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Vermilion also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Firelands by a score of 46-36.
Margaretta's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Clyde's loss dropped theirs to 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Clyde against Vermilion in their previous meeting back in January as the team secured a 61-31 win. Will Clyde repeat their success, or does Vermilion have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
