Softball Recap: South Decatur Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Decatur can now relate to. They fell just short of the Tri Titans by a score of 7-5 on Friday. The Cougars have struggled against the Titans recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost meeting.

Lilly Murray made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Raegan Benge was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

South Decatur's defeat dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Tri, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-5.

South Decatur does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tri, they will face off against Milan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Titans' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
