Baseball Recap: Lutheran Comes Up Short

Lutheran couldn't beat Palmer Ridge on Thursday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Lions fell just short of the Bears by a score of 13-12. The Lions were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bears earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Anthony Misch was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. He has been hot recently, having also posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Parker Sorenson, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one double.

Lutheran's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 9-7. As for Palmer Ridge, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lutheran will venture away from home to face off against Thomas Jefferson at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Palmer Ridge, they will head out to take on Pine Creek at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 8.9 runs per game this season.
