Basketball Recap: Fordland Takes a Loss

Fordland was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by the Norwood Pirates 89-27. Having soared to a lofty 62 points in the game before, the Eagles couldn't push the score so high this time.

Norwood's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Vaughan led the charge by going 8 of 10 on his way to 18 points. With that strong performance, Vaughan is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Carder Kelly was another key player, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points.

Fordland's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Norwood, their victory bumped their record up to 19-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fordland won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Sparta at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
