Basketball Recap: Bishop Rosecrans' Run of Five Straight Victories Now Over

Bishop Rosecrans won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Saturday. They lost 69-48 to the West Muskingum Tornadoes. The Bishops' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Bishop Rosecrans' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyler Bernett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards. Bernett is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last eight games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Bernath, who went 5 of 8 on his way to 12 points.

Bishop Rosecrans' loss dropped their record down to 8-2. As for West Muskingum, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bishop Rosecrans will welcome Millersport at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Rosecrans is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. As for West Muskingum, they will face off against Coshocton at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coshocton knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully West Muskingum likes a good challenge.
