Softball Recap: Larue County Find Success

Larue County won the last time they faced Fern Creek and things went their way on Saturday too. The Hawks walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Tigers. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Hawks.

Heidi Tipton made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and two doubles. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 11 matches.

Tipton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Molly Abbott, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Larue County's win bumped their record up to 22-4. As for Fern Creek, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-16.

Larue County has already played their next game, a 15-0 victory against McLean County on the 10th. As for Fern Creek, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 loss against North Hardin on the 10th.
