Gothenburg was the 3-0 winner over Holdrege when they last played one another back in October of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Gothenburg Swedes fell just short of the Holdrege Dusters by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Swedes' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Gothenburg actually scored more points across those five sets (109-108), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 22-25, 16-25, 25-21, 20-18.

After both having extra time off, Gothenburg and Amherst will dust off their jerseys to square off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Amherst is coming into the match with four straight losses at home, meaning Gothenburg will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Holdrege, they will challenge Minden at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Minden will roll in looking for their 29th straight win, something Holdrege surely won't give up without a fight.
