Mercer Island wins going away against Sammamish

The Mercer Island Islanders had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They enjoyed a cozy 57-38 victory over Sammamish. That's another feather in the cap for Mercer Island, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Mercer Island got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Nickolas Mautone out in front who scored 23 points. Another player making a difference was Will Mcdonald, who scored 14 points.
Mercer Island's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Sammamish, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Mercer Island will be playing at home against Juanita at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Sammamish, they will head out on the road to face off against Port Angeles at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
