Soccer Game Preview: Douglas vs. Tanner

The Douglas Eagles will venture away from home to square off against the Tanner Rattlers at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Douglas' last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Douglas fought the good fight in their overtime match against Crossville on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1.

Meanwhile, Tanner came up short against Madison Academy on Tuesday, falling 7-1.

Douglas dropped their record down to 5-10-1 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Tanner, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.

Douglas took their win against Tanner when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 6-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
