Recap: Penns Grove Red Devils vs. Glassboro Bulldogs
The Penns Grove Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Glassboro. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game last Monday (56), Penns Grove still had to take the loss.
When it comes to explaining why Penns Grove lost, one person who can't be blamed is Mekhi Ballard. Despite the final result, he scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Giomar Conrad, who scored 20 points.
Penns Grove has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Glassboro, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-7.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Penns Grove will take on Wildwood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Wildwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday. As for Glassboro, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Pitman at 5:30 p.m. Pitman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Glassboro in New Jersey (Pitman is ranked 89th, while Glassboro is ranked 216th).
