Basketball Recap: Lake Wales Highlanders vs. Auburndale Bloodhounds
Lake Wales and Auburndale squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Lake Wales had to settle for second. The game between them and the Auburndale Bloodhounds didn't end well, with the Lake Wales Highlanders falling 58-43. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bloodhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 62-58 last Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Auburndale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aiden Curry, who went 5-for-10 to rack up 14 points and eight rebounds. Curry continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Jaden Lindsay was another key player, going 5-for-10 on his way to 17 points and six boards.
Lake Wales has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 11-15 record this season. As for Auburndale, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 21-6.
Lake Wales does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Auburndale, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 65-63 victory against Gateway on the 12th.
