Softball Recap: St. Patrick-St. Vincent Takes a Loss

St. Patrick-St. Vincent might've scored the first runs on Friday, but it was Saint Mary who claimed the real prize. St. Patrick-St. Vincent lost 20-7 to Saint Mary's. The Bruins have struggled against the Panthers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Jaquelyn Benito made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those runs marked the first that she scored this season. Gabriella Wida was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

St. Patrick-St. Vincent's record is now 0-6. As for Saint Mary's, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Looking ahead, St. Patrick-St. Vincent will head out on the road to square off against Bethel at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Saint Mary's, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Salesian College Preparatory at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Salesian College Preparatory's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3 runs per game this season, so Saint Mary's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
