Basketball Recap: Waconia Takes a Loss

Waconia lost against Orono back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Waconia Wildcats received a blow as they fell 89-72 to the Orono Spartans. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Tuesday (71), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Despite the loss, Waconia still got an impressive performance from Will Kirsch, who posted 21 points. The contest was Kirsch's 20th in a row with at least 16 points.

Waconia's defeat dropped their record down to 12-12. As for Orono, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season.

Waconia didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 81-61 loss against Chaska on the 25th. As for Orono, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 66-64 defeat against Benilde-St. Margaret's on the 25th.
