Baseball Recap: Thousand Oaks Snags Sixth Victory in Last Eight Games

While Thousand Oaks put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Buena. Thousand Oaks blew past Buena 9-0. While the Lancers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Jake Ange looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Justin Maher, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Omar Heredia also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Thousand Oaks was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buena only posted a batting average of .174.

Thousand Oaks is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.9 runs over those games. This is the second loss in a row for Buena and nudges their season record down to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Thousand Oaks will be playing at home against Oaks Christian at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Oaks Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Thousand Oaks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Buena, they are taking a road trip to square off against Rio Mesa at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Buena is facing Rio Mesa at the right time seeing as Rio Mesa is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
