Basketball Game Preview: Glenbrook North Spartans vs. Maine West Warriors

The Glenbrook North Spartans will face off against the Maine West Warriors at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Glenbrook North has four straight wins, Maine West has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, everything went Glenbrook North's way against Niles West as Glenbrook North made off with a 60-36 victory. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Maine West had to suffer through a 58-22 loss at the hands of Evanston. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 414th, while the Wildkits are ranked 189th).

Glenbrook North's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Maine West, their loss dropped their record down to 8-19.

Everything came up roses for Glenbrook North against Maine West in their previous meeting two weeks ago, as the team secured a 56-29 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Glenbrook North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
