Volleyball Recap: Bear Grass Charter Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Hobgood Charter on Thursday, Bear Grass Charter came back down to earth. The Bears fell 3-1 to the Perquimans Pirates on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-17, 23-25, 25-15.

Leading Perquimans to victory were Hayleigh Solesbee and Jayden Passwaters. Solesbee had seven digs and two aces, while Passwaters had seven digs and one block. What's more, Passwaters racked up 22 assists, the most she's had since back in October of 2024. Lilee Ann Estes also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Bear Grass Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Perquimans, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Bear Grass Charter will head out to challenge Cape Hatteras at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Perquimans, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Holmes on the 20th.
