Soccer Recap: Freeport Takes a Loss

After soaring to seven goals the game before, Freeport was a bit more limited in their matchup on Saturday. They came up short against the South Elgin Storm, falling 6-0. While losing is never fun, Freeport can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 213th, while South Elgin are ranked 73rd).

Freeport has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for South Elgin, they pushed their record up to 7-6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Freeport wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 defeat against Hononegah on the 1st. As for South Elgin, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 4-4 loss against Deerfield on the 27th.
