Basketball Game Preview: North Salinas Vikings vs. St. Francis Sharks

North Salinas is 0-5 against St. Francis since January of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The North Salinas Vikings will head out on the road to square off against the St. Francis Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

North Salinas is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They skirted past Greenfield 75-73. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Vikings.

Meanwhile, St. Francis came tearing into Tuesday's contest with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18 points) and they left with even more momentum. They breezed by the Mustangs to the tune of 71-33. The Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 21 points or more this season.

St. Francis' win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-3. As for North Salinas, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

North Salinas came up short against St. Francis when the teams last played on January 8th, falling 68-64. Can North Salinas avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
