Basketball Game Preview: Wardlaw Academy Patriots vs. Newberry Academy

Wardlaw Academy is 1-9 against Newberry Academy since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. Having just played yesterday, the Wardlaw Academy Patriots will head out on the road to face off against Newberry Academy at 6:15 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wardlaw Academy is coming into the contest on the come-up as their season has now been buoyed by two straight victories. They enjoyed a cozy 55-38 win over King Academy on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Newberry Academy strolled past King Academy with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 35-17.

Wardlaw Academy is also on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Newberry Academy, their record now sits at 9-7.

Wardlaw Academy couldn't quite finish off Newberry Academy in their previous meeting on January 14th and fell 39-36. Can Wardlaw Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
