Basketball Recap: Fort Bend Austin Snags Eighth Win in Last Nine Games

Fort Bend Austin hadn't done well against Fort Bend Clements recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Fort Bend Austin Bulldogs put the hurt on the Fort Bend Clements Rangers with a sharp 67-43 win. This was payback for the Bulldogs, who suffered a 62-47 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the loss, Fort Bend Clements still got an impressive performance from Aziz Olajuwon, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. The match was Olajuwon's fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin Oyewole, who earned five points along with seven boards and four blocks.

Fort Bend Austin has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Fort Bend Clements, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fort Bend Austin and Fort Bend Travis will compete for holiday cheer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Fort Bend Travis has won five straight at home, while Fort Bend Austin won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. Fort Bend Clements will take on Fort Bend Hightower in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Fort Bend Hightower's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
