Basketball Recap: Reese Ransdell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Mercer County over Casey County

Mercer County was the 71-36 winner over Casey County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Mercer County Titans took a 53-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Casey County Rebels on Thursday. The Titans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mercer County lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Reese Ransdell, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Maddi Baker, who had seven points and nine boards.

Mercer County's loss dropped their record down to 8-18. As for Casey County, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-15 record this season.

Mercer County wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-53 victory against Washington County on the 15th. As for Casey County, they will venture away from home to square off against Danville at 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
