Softball Preview: Coppell Cowboys vs. Braswell Bengals
The Coppell Cowboys will face off against the Braswell Bengals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Coppell is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.
For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Coppell and Lewisville meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Friday. Coppell was the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over Lewisville. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Lily Bowen made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Bowen was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Kimber Kerrigan was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two doubles. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Scott, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three runs.
Coppell hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 8-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.
