Griffith and Calumet New Tech are an even 3-3 against one another since September of 2017, but not for long. The Panthers will head out to take on the Warriors at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Griffith knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Calumet New Tech likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Griffith challenged Gary West Side on Friday. The Panthers simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Cougars 49-12. Considering the Panthers have won six matchups by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Calumet New Tech was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 21-16 to Wheeler. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Bryce Brandon and Levi Murray. Murray had a great game and rushed for 238 yards and three TDs while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Meanwhile, Brandon did his best for the losing side, rushing for 122 yards and one touchdown.

Griffith's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points over those games. As for Calumet New Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.

Everything came up roses for Griffith against Calumet New Tech when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 56-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
