Volleyball Recap: Christian Brothers Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with De Smet Jesuit

Christian Brothers faced De Smet Jesuit in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Cadets came up short against the Spartans, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat last Thursday.

Christian Brothers was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 25-14.

De Smet Jesuit can attribute much of their success to Rory Luina, who had nine digs and two assists.

Christian Brothers' defeat dropped their record down to 11-17-1. As for De Smet Jesuit, the win (which was their 22nd in a row) raised their record to 30-1.

Christian Brothers does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for De Smet Jesuit, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Lafayette on the 20th.
