Softball Game Preview: Ruidoso Warriors vs. East Mountain Timberwolves

Ruidoso has gone 9-1 against East Mountain recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Warriors will be playing at home against the Timberwolves at 2:00 p.m. Ruidoso is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

Ruidoso's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 19-0 margin over Mesilla Valley Christian School. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the SonBlazers: they've now won four in a row.

Jaya Trujillo made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, Talyn Ramos was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last seven matchups. Another player making a difference was Alexx Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one double.

Ruidoso always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mesilla Valley Christian School only posted an OBP of .308.

Meanwhile, East Mountain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 22nd straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-0 to Dexter. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last three times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Ruidoso's victory bumped their record up to 17-4. As for East Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-21.

Ruidoso took their win against East Mountain when the teams last played on April 3rd by a conclusive 22-0 score. Do the Warriors have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Timberwolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
