Basketball Game Preview: Cane Bay Cobras vs. Goose Creek Gators

The Cane Bay Cobras will face off against the Goose Creek Gators at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Cane Bay is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Berkeley just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Stags by a score of 48-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Cobras have suffered since January 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Goose Creek had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Monday. They blew past the Knights 77-42. The Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 24 points or more this season.

Goose Creek has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season. As for Cane Bay, their defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 14-5.

Cane Bay barely slipped by Goose Creek in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 56-55. Will Cane Bay repeat their success, or does Goose Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
