Softball Recap: St. David Takes a Loss

St. David entered their matchup against Flowing Wells on Friday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. St. David fell just short of Flowing Wells by a score of 3-2. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Katelyn Patton was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played. Regan Haynie also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

St. David suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 4-2. As for Flowing Wells, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-7.

St. David wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-1 win against Nogales on the 21st. As for Flowing Wells, they have also already played their next game, a 7-4 victory against Bisbee on the 21st.
