Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Montgomery). They breezed by the St. Mary Tigers to the tune of 73-39 on Friday. Montgomery has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 24 points or more this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Montgomery to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jayden Small, who almost dropped a double-double on 21 points and nine boards. Small is trending in the right direction considering he's improved his point production for three straight games. Latney Laysone was another key player, going 10 for 22 en route to 24 points and five rebounds.
Montgomery smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 21 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in six consecutive matches.
Montgomery has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 9-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game.
