Basketball Game Preview: Salem Rocks vs. Northville Mustangs

The Salem Rocks will venture away from home to square off against the Northville Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Salem is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.

Salem lost 45-22 to Howell on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Rocks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Highlanders are ranked 45th).

Meanwhile, Northville unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 50-43 to Brighton.

Salem will have to keep a close watch on Peyton Sivier and Harper Lee, a pair of players who had a big impact on Northville's prior game. Sivier posted 18 points along with seven steals and five rebounds, while Lee put up ten points and five boards. Sivier is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Northville, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-6.

Salem suffered a grim 53-28 defeat to Northville in their previous meeting back in January. Can Salem avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
