League recap: Pequannock wins, gets boost in standings

Pequannock was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in Northwest Jersey - Independence. The Golden Panthers beat Morris Catholic 47-0 earlier in the week.

Mountain Lakes added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Wallkill Valley, 48-14. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Lakers.

North Warren Regional's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. David Wilbur threw for 110 and 2 touchdowns and Nick Tosh had 71 yards receiving. On the ground Luke Robertson contributed 234 yards. Scott Palmer helped North Warren Regional's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 34 yards.

Robertson was a force in the backfield as the Patriots defeated Kinnelon.

Robertson was a passing and rushing force as North Warren Regional beat the Colts. Robertson's favorite target this week was Tosh, who caught 4 passes for 71 yards.

Wilbur put up the best numbers in passing as Matt Parzero's team defeated Kinnelon.

North Warren Regional's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Patriots feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Wilbur has thrown for 660 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Tosh has 13 catches for 288 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Butler takes on Pequannock. The Bulldogs are in second place, while Ed Kopp's team is in sixth place.

Boonton and Whippany Park played the most contested game in Northwest Jersey - Independence this week, with Boonton eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory. Michael Ferrante ran for 79 yards and caught 2 passes for 23 yards during the win.
