Soccer Game Preview: King City vs. Palma

The King City Mustangs will take on the Palma Chieftains at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

King City is headed into the game having not lost since December 9 and will look to keep things rolling. They never let Salinas onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Palma waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They had just enough and edged the Pirates out 3-2. Given the Chieftains' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Pirates are ranked 768th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Palma is also on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 18 goals over those six games. As for King City, they now have a winning record of 4-3-4.
