Basketball Recap: American Fork Cavemen vs. Westlake Thunder
American Fork was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost to the Westlake Thunder at home by a 64-49 margin. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 61-57 back in January.
Several Cavemen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bryce Mella, who went 5 for 12 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Dieter Tuitavuki, who posted eight points.
American Fork's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Westlake, their victory bumped their record up to 15-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. American Fork will welcome Skyridge at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Westlake, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lone Peak at 7:30 p.m. Lone Peak will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Westlake surely won't give up without a fight.
